Eigenoid

Two things at once:

  1. The organization on GitHub (eigenoid/*) where the team's private code lives.
  2. The main Python package — a private library consumed by the team's other projects. See Products > Eigenoid for the technical sheet.

Origin of the name

Eigen comes from German, meaning "own" or "characteristic" (as in eigenvalue, the characteristic value of a matrix). The suffix -oid suggests "something in the form of." Together they hint at "something with its own characteristic shape."

In practice

When someone says "eigenoid" without further context, they usually mean the Python package. When the conversation is about permissions, repos, or GitHub Apps, it's about the organization.
